About Dr. Jackson
Dr. Shelli Jackson is a Licensed Health Service Psychologist in the State of Oklahoma. She is an Oklahoma native who received her Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship and a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She currently operates a private practice in Norman, Oklahoma.
Dr. Jackson initially established a private practice in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, in 2002 and then later moved her practice to Norman, Oklahoma, where it is currently located. She has over 18years experience as a therapist and currently provides therapy services to older adolescent and adult clients who face a broad range of challenges and life stressors. In the past, her private practice services also included providing psychological evaluations for children and teens and conducting consultative examinations of disability services
applicants for the Social Security Administration
Disability Determination Division.
Concurrently with her private practice, Dr. Jackson works as a consultant for Steople Group, LLC. She applies her clinical skills in an organizational setting through providing training, consulting, and executive coaching services to professionals and organizations to enhance professional development and organizational functioning. She previously worked as a consulting psychologist for the Oklahoma State Department of Human Services (OKDHS) for ten years. She provided psychological first aid services on an as needed basis to OKDHS Children and Family Services staff and Adult Protective Services staff in response to fatalities or the near deaths of the agency's child and/or adult clients. Dr. Jackson also served OKDHS as a consulting psychologist for the Pauline E. Mayer Shelter (a state-owned and operated emergency shelter for children/adolescents), Pauline E. Mayer Group Home and Deborah Rothe Group Home (two-state-owned group homes) for approximately 8 years. This consultation work included provision of clinical services, staff consultation, program consultation, and staff development training. Dr. Jackson has given presentations at local, state and national conferences and has published research articles in several peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Jackson is a member of the American Psychological Association, Oklahoma Psychological Association, and APA Division 13-Society of Consulting Psychologists. She previously served on the Oklahoma Psychological Association (OPA) Board of Directors, Citizen's Advisory Board (CAB) of Cleveland County Child Welfare Unit Board of Directors, Kappa Alpha Theta Advisory Board, and the Board of Directors for the Cleveland County 4-H Foundation. She is a Red Cross Disaster Mental Health volunteer.
